A few years ago, the UN declared March 3rd to be the annual day to commemorate Wildlife world over. Of course, if you are like me, EVERY day is World Wildlife Day! Still it behooves us to get together and cherish wildlife and remind ourselves that we CAN share this planet without being parasites on it.
This year, the UN wants to push the them of “sustaining all life on Earth” for World Wildlife Day. In that spirit, here are some Harbor Seals, true to their name, off of CA 1 in California. It is proof to me that we don’t have to think of “wild” as “other” from us.
Since tomorrow is a “working” day, paying the bills, so I can spend time with wildlife at other times, I cannot get away. But, I hope to walk around and see what nature has to offer around where I live and work!
Maybe you already have a big thematic celebration planned for World Wildlife Day. Maybe you don’t.
If you don’t have plans, how about this?
How about spending a few minutes thinking about wildlife and what it means to you?
I hope your ruminations bring you much satisfaction!
